Scots BMWi dealer hails sales success 05 | 04 | 2017

SCOTLAND’S MOST INNOVATIVE car dealership group, Peter Vardy, is celebrating target-busting BMWi sales at its Edinburgh dealership.

Since the business launched its BMWi dealership last August, a total of 32 all-electric i3 models and its sporty big brother, the plug-in hybrid i8, have been sold in Edinburgh by the Peter Vardy Group.

“The Edinburgh public has taken to the BMWi range with great enthusiasm,” Guy Watson, the dealership’s managing partner, said. “We hit our annual i8 sales target in less than one month and sold half our annual i3 target in three months.

“As a result, I’m delighted to say, those numbers make us the top BMWi dealership in Scotland.”

The all-electric BMW i3 is the world’s first mass production model to be designed for sustainability. As an all-electric car, it generates zero emissions and no odours while in use, making it the perfect companion around town.

And it’s nippy too: the BMW i3 takes just 7.3 seconds to sprint from 0-62 mph.

The BMW i8, on the other hand, is the first sports car with the consumption and emission values of a compact car. As a result of its innovative construction it boasts ground-breaking use of materials, aerodynamic design and a wealth of intelligent BMW EfficientDynamics features.

A BMWi promotional week is set for May 19-21 during which the dealership is holding a competition where the prize will be a 24-hour BMW i8 test drive and £50 worth of lunch vouchers.

The BMWi brand has its own display stand at the existing BMW dealership operated by the Peter Vardy Group in Edinburgh’s Seafield Road; in addition, it offers also a charge point station for electric car users.

“With new, higher vehicle excise duties coming into force, the appeal of these two models can only rise,” Peter Vardy, chief executive, said, “and we are delighted to be in a strong position to meet that demand.”
